Tanzania, a country rich in cultural heritage and history, is also home to arguably the world’s most famous and most impressive national parks: the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. Rich in game and the big cats that pursue them, these areas are the site of the Great Migration, when over 1.5 million wildebeest, 200,000 zebra and many other antelope species travel in search of grazing land.

A land of contrasts, Tanzania is also home to the vibrant city of Dar es Salaam, and neighbouring island Zanzibar, the spice island whose colourful culture, beaches and tropical fruit are additional major attractions. The shops of Stone Town, the port of arrival from the mainland, offer all sorts of interesting nick knacks and crafts and hours can be happily spent visiting shops tucked in among the winding narrow streets.
