By flying from Cape Town to Windhoek this tour is designed to make the most of your time, allowing this safari to be taken over a two-week break, a day either side for travelling from home and back again!

Day 1: Cape Town
Today you will be met at the airport by the guide for your half-day Cape Town city tour. The highlights you will explore include the South African Museum & the Company Gardens, Parliament buildings, City Hall and Castle of Good Hope, Malay Quarter/ the colourful Bo-Kaap residential area, Green Market Square, Signal Hill, Camps Bay & Clifton beaches. Optional extras include a cable car ride up Table Mountain and a short diamond factory tour.
After your tour you will be transferred to your hotel to settle in. The afternoon and evening are yours at leisure; this would be a good day to explore the Cape Town Waterfront and its extensive variety of shops.

Day 2: Cape Town
The day tour guide will collect you at 9am for your full day Cape Peninsula tour. Highlights today include Llandudno, Hout Bay, Chapmans Peak Drive, Noordhoek beach, Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, Cape Point, Simons Town, Muizenberg, Constantia and Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Optional extras include a boat ride to Seal Island and entrance to the penguin colony in Simon’s Town.
After your tour you will be transferred to your hotel to spend an evening at leisure.

Day 3: Windhoek
You will be collected from your hotel for transfer to Cape Town airport at 7.30am, for your 10.05am flight to Windhoek. This flight is included as part of your tour.
On arrival you will be met by the tour vehicle and guide. On arrival in Windhoek you will have a short city driving tour. You will also have the chance to exchange money for the Botswana portion of your tour. There will be no need to change money for your time in Namibia.
Tonight you may wish to dine out at Joe’s Beerhouse, which offers a find selection of local beers and good cuisine.
Day 4: Sesriem
Departure will be after breakfast today. En route you will stop in Solitaire, which is is famous for its apple pie and other baked treats. Lunch can also be purchased here.
Camp will be set up on arrival in Sesriem. Your guide will demonstrate tent set up, and you will have the chance to take a dip in the Sesriem campsite pool. In the afternoon as the temperature cools you will visit Sesriem Canyon, so- called for the six belt-straps (“Sesriem”) the early pioneers used to draw water from the bottom of the Canyon. A short walk can be taken into the canyon itself, and is well worth it for the unusual rock forms.
This evening you will enjoy a meal cooked around the camp fire.

Day 5: Windhoek
Very early this morning you will participate in a time-honoured overland tradition: the race to the Sossusvlei park gates. These open one hour before sunrise, and it is worth being as near to first in the vehicle queue as possible. The drive to Dune 45 takes approx. 45 minutes. The crew will prepare breakfast while you climb the dune for sunrise; an incredible photo opportunity.
After enjoying breakfast at the base of Dune 45, you will travel to the Dead Vlei parking area – approx. 20 minutes travelling time. From here, 4×4 vehicles will transfer you into Dead Vlei.
You will have an hour or so to enjoy the Vlei. You will need to board the transfer vehicle by 10am, in order to arrive back at Sesriem at approx. 11am. Here you will break camp while the crew prepares lunch. You will depart for Windhoek immediately after lunch.
Dinner will be out, for own account, at one of Windhoek’s many fine restaurants.

Day 6: Ghanzi
This is a long drive day, so you will depart immediately after an early breakfast. The day will be broken up by a lunch stop under a tree en route.
After checking in to your room you are free to take photos of the environment. The traditional San “bushman” dance will take place in the evening, and dinner will be enjoyed around a campfire.

Day 7: Maun
This morning you will enjoy a guided walk with a San “bushman” guide, who will point out the various plants and animal tracks and discuss traditional life.
Drive time will be relatively short, and you will arrive in Maun in the mid to late morning. You will stop here for shopping before heading out to Sitatunga Camp, located a short distance out of town.
On arrival you will check into your chalet and have some lunch. The campsite is lovely and offers a variety of birdlife, a swimming pool and a bar which you can enjoy at your leisure.
Tonight at dinner you will be briefed about your overnight trip into the Okavango Delta.

Day 8: Okavango Delta
Your adventure in the Okavango Delta will begin after breakfast with a transfer to the Delta polers’ station. Boarding a mokoro, a traditional dugout canoe, your poler will negotiate the narrow channels and waterways, an exciting yet relaxing journey.
You will arrive at the campsite in the late morning, and after a brief introduction to the camp you will be shown to your dome tent, complete with camp beds and a bush ensuite bathroom, with bush toilet and bucket shower.
Lunch will be served at 1pm, after which you can have a go at poling a mokoro, take a swim or just relax around camp. After a brief afternoon tea at approx. 3pm the afternoon activities will start. Your options will include a mokoro ride or a guided walk in search of game.
You will return to camp in time for a sundowner (own account) while your dinner and shower water are prepared. The evening will be spent around the camp fire where your hosts can be encouraged to share some stories with you.

Day 9: Nata
It’s an early start today as you enjoy a final activity. After breakfast in the bush you will meander back along the pristine channels of the Delta to the polers’ station, where you will bid the Delta farewell for the journey back to Maun.
The itinerary is tight today, so any optional activities (as noted below), must be pre-booked and -paid. Your guide will be able to give you extra information about these.
Following these activities, you will travel to Nata. Lunch will be prepared en route, under a tree. The afternoon is yours at leisure to relax.
Optional activities: Helicopter flight, or fixed-wing aircraft flight over the Okavango Delta
Day 10: Chobe National Park area
After breakfast you will depart for Kasane, the base town for explorations of Chobe National Park. After arrival at camp and checking in to your room, lunch will be prepared.
At approx. 4pm you will commence your Chobe River boat cruise. Be on the lookout for elephant – sometimes large herds can be seen! – hippo, buffalo, kudu, bushbuck, hippo, crocodile and sable antelope. In the summer months the birding is incredible!
On the opposite side of the river from camp is Chobe National Park. This is where the animals gather and can be seen in the greatest abundance from the boat.

Day 11: Victoria Falls
The day will start early with your morning game drive in Chobe National Park. You will board open-sided game driving vehicles with a local guide, who will be on the lookout for wildlife to point out to you.
On arrival back at camp you will enjoy breakfast before heading off on your last transfer for the tour, to Victoria Falls. This is a short drive although a border crossing is involved, and this could cause delays.
Arriving in Victoria Falls, you will check in to your room. Your truck and guide will bid you farewell here.
Lunch can be purchased at the café on site or in Victoria Falls town. A short activity briefing in the early afternoon will enable you to choose between the many optional activities on offer. The helicopter flight over the falls is highly recommended.
You will then be transferred to Victoria Falls National Park for your 2-hour guided tour, included as part of your package. The afternoon and evening will be yours at leisure.

Day 12: Victoria Falls
Depending on the time of your flight home, you may have the morning to enjoy a last activity. You will then be transferred to the airport in time for your flight home.
